about the jury

YUANN is a leading film director based in Tokyo, Japan, who was born in Shanghai and raised in Tokyo. In 2016, he became the founder and CEO of kidzfrmnowhere, a global creative production house and agency headquartered in Tokyo with branches in Shanghai and Hong Kong. YUANN’s boundary-pushing storytelling is heavily inspired by his multi-cultural background, and his directing demonstrates his goal to unite the creative powers within the Asia region while sharing their diversities around the world. YUANN has joined directors’ rosters with Cadence Films in the U.S. and PHANTASM in France. 

YUANN’s commercial work spans a variety of genres including beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and music, with notable brands including Gentle Monster, PRADA, Hublot, Estée Lauder, Salomon, PUMA, andVans, among others. In the realm of entertainment and advertisements, YUANN has directed for some of the largest labels in K-POP and J-POP, such as Hybe Entertainment, JYP, and THEBLACKLABEL, as well as for top solo acts in Asia. 

Since 2025, YUANN has served as a judge of the Film Craft sector of the ACC Tokyo Creativity Awards.
