Scott Dettrick is a Sydney based Executive Creative Director with over 25 years experience across advertising, comedy, film, design and emerging creative formats.

Most recently, Scott was National Executive Creative Director at M+C Saatchi AUNZ, leading creative across the M+C Saatchi Group. Prior to that, he was a founding creative at The Monkeys (now Droga5), helping shape the agency’s reputation for culturally influential work.

Across his career, Scott has led campaigns for brands including MLA (Beef & Lamb), Amazon, IKEA, Audi, Qantas, Telstra, UBank, Canadian Club, Jim Beam and -196. He helped continue the long running Australian Lamb platform, creating humorous films and campaigns designed to spark conversation.

His work has been recognised globally at Cannes, D&AD, AWARD, LIA, Clio, Spikes Asia and the Webbys, and has contributed to multiple Agency of the Year titles, including The Monkeys being named Agency of the Decade in 2019. His campaigns have also earned numerous effectiveness awards, including three Global Grand Effies.

Alongside advertising, Scott has maintained a long connection to stand-up comedy, performing at clubs and festivals around Australia. Comedy and audience response have become a defining influence on his creative approach, particularly his interest in tone, timing and culturally resonant storytelling.

His background spans art direction, writing, design, music composition and film. Before advertising, Scott was a designer, writer and head of art at irreverent Australian clothing brand Mambo during its cultural peak. Beyond advertising, he has worked across documentaries, television, music videos, video games and AI-led creative projects.
